Marjolijn Ligtenberg, PhD, is full professor in Molecular Tumor Genetics at Radboudumc, Nijmegen, The Netherlands. She is head of the Laboratory of Tumor Genetics and Principal Investigator at the Radboud Institute for Molecular Life Sciences. She is registered as Clinical Molecular Geneticist and Clinical Scientist in Molecular Pathology. Her team aims at rapid implementation of recent technological developments and the accumulating knowledge on tumor genetic-based treatment options for the benefit of the patient. She has a leading role in several nation-wide multidisciplinary projects aimed at the optimization of clinical application of tumor genetic information in patient care, both for the recognition of genetic tumor susceptibility and to optimize treatment choices, by the identification of molecular targets and by monitoring the disease using ctDNA.
